Events at the Dalang Fashion Town subvenue of the ongoing Shenzhen Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022 kicked off at Dalang Fashion Town Public Service Platform in Longhua District on Thursday and will run through Monday.
A fashion show staged by independent designer Mao Baobao, also known as Chicco Mao, who won the best womenswear designer prize at this year’s China Fashion Awards, and his personal brand CHICCO MAO hit the runway after the opening ceremony.
Other fashion town-based brands including Hui, Versino and @SGNK will also stage their runway shows.
Pan Ming, president of Shenzhen Garment Industry Association, said at the opening ceremony that Dalang Fashion Town will further showcase its identity as the fashion industry hub in Shenzhen and China through serving as a subvenue of Shenzhen Fashion Week.
According to Zhao Yanyan, vice head of the Longhua District Government, the subvenue can enhance communication and exchanges among designers from home and abroad, and attract more outstanding fashion enterprises and independent designers to set up businesses at the fashion town.
The subvenue will also host forums on topics such as the integration of scientific technologies and talent introduction in the fashion industry.
Shenzhen Fashion Week’s closing and awards ceremony will also be held in the fashion town at Eachway Art Museum on Monday night.
Shenzhen Fashion Week is being held at its main venue at OCT Harbor in Nanshan District and two subvenues, namely Huaqiangbei Pedestrian Street in Futian District and the fashion town.
