The city’s exports increased by 13.5 percent to 1.35 trillion yuan, ranking first among major Chinese cities, while the imports jumped by 17.2 percent to 1.16 trillion yuan, statistics showed.

In August and September, Shenzhen’s trade volume per month exceeded 300 billion yuan, showing growth for 11 consecutive months.

General trade volume posted a year-on-year growth of 14.5 percent and reached 1.26 trillion yuan in the first three quarters, accounting for 50.4 percent of the city’s total trade, indicating further optimization of the city’s trade structure.

Exports of mechanical and electrical products reached 1.08 trillion yuan, up by 21.5 percent year on year.
